A fab way to recycle old textiles using the tradition of rag rug making. Try making rugs, wreaths, brooches, potholders and wall art - dependent on the amount of sessions you’d like.
Explore block printing techniques to design and carve your own stamp to use for card making, wrapping paper and fabric printing.
Learn the basics of crochet over several sessions, or spend a few sessions learning to make something more advanced like toys. Your group could even try ‘yarn bombing’ (working together to completely cover with crochet) an object to display in your setting?
Punch Needle Pictures
Although traditionally used for rug making this method has become very popular for making artworks. So easy to get started, once you start punching you’ll be hooked! Workshops in this craft can range in length depending on the size of piece you’d like to create.
This relaxed and creative style of embroidery combines traditional stitches with hand drawn designs. Learn how to chain, stem and seed stitch, make french knots and work with fabric pens.
Pom-Poms and Tassels
A fun and fluffy craft for all ages! Pom-Poms and tassels are very versatile but my favourite uses are bag charms, Christmas decorations and garlands.
How many sessions does it take?
How many do you fancy?! All of the crafts above can be provided as a one off or delivered as course lasting for up to 6 sessions.
It all depends on what your group would like to work toward.
Each individual session needs a minimum of 2 hours so you have time to learn a new skill and complete your artwork.
